The word TRIGGER has a variety of uses.

It speaks of that which stimulates, stirs, prompts or activates. Triggers can be unconscious and thus control us without permission. That said, scriptures also teach that triggers are an unbelievably powerful tool given to man to aid his manifestation of divine possibilities.
