MC&TIS is over 2 hours long! 2 hours! In old money terms, it’s a triple vinyl album. Should it have been? The panel discuss it & agree on the tracks they would have picked if it had been released as a single album. What good songs will miss out? Our guest is Pablos guitarist & singer, Paul Murphy. Controversially, he thinks this should have been an EP!
Bon Jovi released 2 non-album tracks on the first single from their 1995 ‘These Days’ album - ‘This Ain’t A Love Song’. One of those, ‘The End’, is the subject of our latest ‘Hidden Prime Cuts’ episode. What Bee Gees & Supertramp songs do we think it sounds like? Do we think it should have been on ‘These Days’? What do we still like about it over 25 years since it was released? Find out in this pod! Also, friend of the podcast, Bryan Borthwick weighs in on the song. It’s fair to say he doesn’t like it!

What if John Lennon didn’t release the album ‘Double Fantasy’ in 1980? What if he wasn’t tragically murdered in December of that same year? What if he continued recording into 1981 & released new material then? What if he called that album ‘Watching The Wheels’? And all the songs on the album were his (no Yoko)? What songs would make the cut for an under 50 minute album? That’s the scenario we’ve given ourselves as we take a look at Lennon’s ‘Double Fantasy’ & 1984’s ‘Milk & Honey’. Along the way, we’ll critique each song; share some interesting facts; and play archive interview clips. We also draft in a HUGE Lennon fan: Our Dad! And ask him what it was like hearing that fateful news in Dec 1980 & what made John Lennon his hero. Our guest is The Pablos’ singer & guitarist, Paul Murphy.

What if Radiohead released just one album from the Kid A & Amnesiac recording sessions? What if that album had to be less than 50 minutes in duration? What songs would you pick? That’s what we’ve set out to do in this pod. Along the way, we’ll share our thoughts on each song, debate the tracks to be included, provide interesting song facts & historical context, and play archive interview clips. You’ll also get to hear some ‘singing’ from the pod guests, Paul’s trouble with the word ‘ordinariness’, and Davie doing his best Darth Vader impersonation. All together now - “Everythinggggg!!!”.
