What does it mean to reset when life has taken us somewhere we never meant to go? 

This week at Trinity, we begin "Reset", a new sermon series about the ways God meets us when we need to return, restart, and be renewed. We begin with one of Jesus' most familiar stories: a son who believes life will be better away from his father. He leaves home, loses what he has, and eventually comes to his senses. With nothing left to prove, he gets up and goes home. 

But the real surprise in the story is waiting for him there. His father sees him while he is still far away, runs to meet him, embraces him, and welcomes him home. The son expects judgment. Instead, he finds grace. 

In this message from Luke 15:11–24, we look at what happens when we recognize where our path is taking us and turn back toward God. Every true reset begins with the grace of a Father who welcomes wandering children home. 

As we begin this new series, we are reminded that following Jesus is not about pretending we have never wandered. It is about learning to recognize when we have drifted, turning back toward God, and receiving the grace he freely gives.

What happens when God's people gather around the Lord’s Table?

In this message, Grace at the Table, we explore the meaning of the Lord’s Supper and the extraordinary gift it represents. Through Jesus, we are reconciled to God, forgiven through his sacrifice, and welcomed into a restored relationship with our Creator.

The Lord’s Table also reminds us that we are not Christians in isolation. Paul writes that although we are many, we share one loaf and are one body. The meal draws us back to Christ and to one another.

As Trinity closes the Life Together series, this message points to the foundation that holds the church together: Jesus Christ. He is the one who invites us to his table, gives himself for us, and continues to gather his people in every season.

What does it look like to actually live life together as followers of Jesus?

In Galatians 5:13–6:5, Paul connects the freedom of the gospel with a life of humble, burden-bearing love. Christian freedom is not about turning inward toward ourselves. The Spirit turns us outward toward one another.

Drawing from Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s Life Together, this message follows three movements:

• The flesh turns us inward.
• The Spirit turns us outward.
• The Word turns us upward.

Bearing one another’s burdens means more than trying to fix someone’s problems. It means listening, making room, staying present, serving with humility, and walking patiently with people through weakness and suffering. And ultimately, it means bringing one another back to the Word of God, trusting Jesus to do what only Jesus can do.

As Trinity enters a season of transition, this message points to a deeper truth: the church belongs to Jesus Christ. He has carried our greatest burden at the cross, and because Christ has borne us, we are free to bear one another.

Galatians 5:13–6:5

This week, we continue our Life Together series with a message about an often-overlooked part of Christian community: learning to be alone with God.

In Mark 1:35–39, Jesus steps away from the crowds and the demands around him to spend time alone with his Father. That time shapes how he sees himself, where he goes next, and how he responds to the needs around him.

True solitude isn't about escaping people or becoming more self-focused. It creates space to hear God, face ourselves honestly, receive the grace of Jesus, and discover how God is calling us to love others.

This message also invites the Trinity community into a simple practice: putting aside the noise for just 12 minutes to become still before God, listen to his Word, and pray for the people and community around us.

Can you really find contentment in every circumstance?

Most of us believe contentment comes when life finally settles down. When the problems are solved, the finances improve, or the future becomes clear.

The Apostle Paul discovered something entirely different.

Writing from prison and reflecting on both hardship and God's faithfulness, Paul reveals the secret of a life that isn't controlled by changing circumstances. His confidence wasn't found in comfort or success, but in Christ, who gave him strength in every season.

In this concluding message from The Generosity of God series, we explore how God's generosity produces courage in suffering, joy in uncertainty, and hearts that overflow with generosity because they have first been filled by the grace of Jesus.
