Behind The Scenes with Dom Nero, Hot 97

Dom is Imaging Director at Hot 97 in New York City. Super humble, super nice. Not only does he do imaging for Hot 97, he’s also Format Production Director for Reelworld’s Production Vault Urban AC.

He talks about:

  1. Don’t stop the music to play a sweeper, then start the music again. Make the production an extension of the song.
  2. Plugins are fun to use, but are they useful and add anything to your work? Learn to use them properly
  3. Make your work Rhythmic. Work in key and tempo and your work will sound much slicker.
  4. Learn your DAW and how to use it properly. They’re all great, and do the same things!
  5. Sit down, be humble.
