Brendan was found floating in their backyard pool by his daughter on 7 February 2021. His wife commenced CPR and his other daughter, 9yo Ashlee McAullife, ran next door to get help. Paramedics, including HARU, obtained Return of Spontaneous Circulation and transported Brendan to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition. Brendan has since made a full recovery. Brendan and his family are looking forward to meeting QAS staff and thanking them for their outstanding efforts to save Brendan's life.
