Secrets are a common trope, plot device, or world building element. Big secret, dark secret, secret identity, secret world, secret powers, dangerous secret, secret admirer, secret keeper, and so on. If you’re a writer, eventually you’re going to deal with secrets—whether you work with secrets on a small scale or large one.
