A truck driver was fatally crushed by his own vehicle on the Pacific Highway on-ramp at Wahroonga in Sydney's north just after 4am. Another driver attempted to help by jumping into the cab and pulling the emergency brake to prevent the truck from rolling into traffic, but the man died at the scene despite treatment from paramedics. Northbound lanes were closed for several hours while police investigated the incident.
