Comfort is a hidden threat to our spiritual life. What we seek and cling to become our idols to which we devote our time, money, and attention. This fallen nature of the human heart is a thread that traces self-centered behavior throughout the Scriptures and throughout history.

But God's love guides us to places of decision where we are asked to realize who or what is the object of our worship. He knows that anything other than Himself will lead us to destruction.

Recognizing that Jesus Christ is the only way, truth, and life advances us in the lifelong journey of dethroning false hopes and security and embracing the true comfort of God's salvation that our spirits desperately need.
