This weekend on Discovery we present a sample of the true crime genre which is hugely popular in podcasts. Lorimer Shenher is the author of That Lonely Section of Hell: The Botched Investigation of a Serial Killer Who Almost Got Away. His debut novel tells tells the story of tone of Canada's most infamous investigations- the case of Robert Picton found guilty of kidnapping and murdering women on his pig farm in BC. This first person account of what went very wrong in finding this serial killer was a best seller and now Lorimer is applying his investigative skills honed over the years as a Vancouver Police Detective and applying them to his new podcast series Dusting For Prints. Lorimer looks at and talks to other investigators and authors about investigations that went wrong. In this sample, he speaks with Omri Rose about the brutal murder of Tair Rada, a 13 year old Israeli girl and the race to closure that resulted in the wrong man being convicted and a killer still on the loose.
