Ashley and Jess continue their discussion of the downfall of the Romanov Dynasty and the end of Imperial Russia, picking up where they left off in part 1. Some of the historical events included in this episode are the beginning of World War I, the murder of Grigori Rasputin, and the establishment of the Provisional Government by the members of the Third Duma. Finally, Ashley walks us through the end of the Russian autocracy and the executions of the imperial family by the Ekaterinburg Bolsheviks. Part 2 concludes with a discussion of the recovery and identification of the Romanovs’ remains.
