TRUE CRIME. GRACE TALKS TO HAZEL THORNTON AUTHOR AND JUROR ON ERIK MENENDEZ FIRST TRIAL WHICH ENDED IN MISTRIAL.. SHE TALKS ABOUT HER TIME ON JURY
I welcomed Author Hazel Thornton who wrote the book Hung Jury:The Diary Of A Menendez Juror. We discussed the first trial of Lyle and Erik Menendez which had been made into a Law and Order Series True Crime:The Menendez Murders. Many people got their first introduction into the trial that captivated millions of people all over the world. Dick Wolf, producer of Law And Order feels the brothers should be out of jail. The show was very sympathetic to the brothers. I watched the series and looked for a book to read about the case and I came across Hazels book/ I read it in three hours. Its a fascinating read that takes us into the trial and jury room. We do not discuss the crime itself. We both thought when we first heard about the case GUILTY AS SIN. I still don't really believe that they were afraid for their lives but do believe they were molested by their father Jose, a Cuban immigrant and self made man. This fact is not disputed,. Lyle and Erik killed their parents. The question for the jury was why???Good listen for a behind the scenes look at the trial. Hazels book has been updated and I can't recommend it highly enough.
