Robert Hansen was born in 1939 to a Danish immigrant who came to Iowa as a baker. When he was younger he was described as a skinny, painfully shy boy, who had a stutter and severe acne that actually ended up permanently scarring his face. And he also had a really difficult relationship with his father, who was described as domineering. Because of this he didn’t get a ton of attention from the girls at school or anything, And he began to resent them, even having fantasies of getting revenge on them. This all manifested in the 1970s after he moved to Anchorage, Alaska. Hansen was seriously messed up - like I feel like when you talk about serial killers for long enough you kind of distance yourself from the stories in a way but this was a lot for me I had to take breaks when researching, so definitely take care of your own mental health when listening to this case and take breaks or stop when necessary.
