Dennis Rader was a family man; active in his local church and community in Wichita. Over the years, his rigidity, odd behavior, and nasty temper caused suspicion among neighbors. And they were right, something was up. But it wasn't until Rader branded himself as 'BTK' (Bind, Torture, Kill) in a pathetic effort to get attention for his disturbing, sexually-motivated murders, that Rader fully committed to his double life. Being a serial killer is exhausting though, which he soon found out after having children, and took a bit of a hiatus. This hiatus ended in the early 90s, but Rader still wasn't satisfied. He continued to taunt law enforcement and the public for attention. He got sloppy and with the help of familial DNA, was finally caught in 2005 after taking 10 innocent lives. He's now serving multiple life sentences without a shred of remorse.
