Joshua was to lead God's people to conquer Jericho in the most absurd way. The story of Israel's entry into the Promised Land tells us that True Faith recognizes God's voice and is obedient. The conquest of Jericho requires the annihilation of all its citizens which is quite different than Islam's jihad.
