1 Peter 2.1-17
Sermon by Adam Cetrangolo given on 15 April 2018.
The author of 1 Peter is Peter the Apostle who lived with Jesus for three years, was among the first to witness his miracles, sit at the feet of his teaching and through the Holy Spirit declare Him to be the Son of God. Here he writes to Christians scattered throughout the empire living as a persecuted people. Peter seeks to remind them of their true home with Jesus and the imperishable inheritance that is theirs. While we do not live with this level of persecution in our part of the world today, this letter is a timely reminder that we are more than our circumstances or the sum of our experiences, we have received new birth into a living hope (1:3).
