True happiness isn't found in temporary circumstances or worldly achievements. The Greek word 'makaros' describes an unshakeable contentedness that comes from our relationship with God, not from getting what we want. While worldly happiness is circumstantial and temporary, Christian blessedness is permanent and independent of our situations. Jesus sees us completely, sits with us intimately, and speaks to us personally. He calls us to live differently from the world around us, finding our identity and satisfaction in Him.
