It's a logical, but devastating progression:  personal pride, a lack of humility, internal conflict, expressed in external discord.  Sound familiar?  James' text speaks across two millennia directly into our contemporary situation, and offers the only solution:  humility before God, which leads to right relationship with Him and consequently with each other.
