Publisher's Summary:
Act like a lady. Land a career. Find a man. Learn how to cook. Rear amazing kids. Oh! And be sure you stay thin. Pressure to perform and conform starts early in a woman's life and never stops. In attempts to compensate and keep up appearances, we lose our ability to keep in touch with the truest parts of ourselves. We put on masks and hide the painful parts of our stories. If we get a quiet moment, we are ambushed with doubts: Who am I?
This audiobook serves as a companion as we find ourselves, our sense of community, and our identity in God. Designed to take you deeper with God on your own or with a group of sisters, journey alongside experienced ministers Adele Ahlberg Calhoun and Tracey Bianchi into some of the places where women struggle - no matter what their age or life-stage. Personal resources like journaling questions and a small group guide help women support each other on the way. These pages offer a reminder that there is a beloved, "true you" waiting to be known in each of us and that a world in need awaits the unique stories that each of us were made to tell. Will you use your voice?

An Inspirational, Aspirational, Challenging Book for Christian Women
I loved this book - found it inspiring, challenging, forward-looking. It's an aspirational book. If you are hungry to dig into your faith in new ways and find your voice and purpose, it's for you. Almost as soon as I was done reading it (and read it all the way through over two days), I started brainstorming ways I could dig into it again with others. I am eager to share it with others, and the small group guide and journal questions make it the perfect book to explore in community.
This book talks!
This book will speak to your soul. I picked ''True You: Overcoming Self Doubt and Using Your Voice' at my church bookstore on Sunday and I haven't been able to put it down since! Finally a book that talks to me like a real person. These authors recognize and identify the voices of this world and they help you with suggestions on how we as women can navigate through the noise of this world and embrace God's unique plan for us. They perfectly explain why we sometimes seek solitude when we need other women as our support network. They offer real advice like a long-time friend would that you feel honored to know.
So grab some girlfriends, a cup of coffee and settle into lively discussions all to help us grow as the Women God needs us to be.
