Trump Administration Freezes More Than $2.2 Billion in Funding to Harvard

(The Center Square) – The U.S. Department of Education late Monday said it is freezing more than $2.2 billion in federal funding to Harvard University after its president said earlier in the day it would not comply with President Donald Trump's demands over antisemitism on campus and diversity, equity and inclusion policies. "Harvard’s statement today reinforces the troubling entitlement mindset that is endemic in our nation's most prestigious universities and colleges – that federal investment does not come with the responsibility to uphold civil rights laws," the department's Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism said in a statement, citing the "harassment of Jewish students" that "has plagued campuses in recent years..."
