The rise of Adolf Hitler, beat for beat, is a mirror image of the rise of Donald Trump.   They both used lies to rise up during a time of economic and ideological frustration and unite their people around a single figure espousing a message of hate and division.  Just as Hitler portrayed the Jews as greedy devils, baby snatchers, and communists, Trump has portrayed Democrats in exactly the same way.  He has literally accused us of being favor of performing abortions "up to the point of birth and beyond - which is execution!"  Yes, he literally said those exact words, obviously with the intention of stoking fear and hatred.

His followers are frustrated people who have been having trouble making ends meet for the last couple of decades and have been looking for someone, anyone, to blame it on. Trump has served us up as their enemy, sharpened their hatred for us liberals, and pointed it at us like a weapon.

He has just fired the Secretary of Defense for not wanting to use the military against Americans on American soil.  In doing this, he has telegraphed the fact that he wants to use the military against Americans on American soil.  

His intentions could not be clearer.  Hitler was allowed to roll over half of Europe before anyone tried to stop him.  Let's hope we react more quickly this time.
