In a recent interview with NBC News, Trump said, “he’ll have to pay consequences for that,” without specifying exactly what those might be.

We’ve seen Trump threaten to cancel billions in government contracts that Musk’s companies depend on, and allies like Steve Bannon have floated everything from deportation to seizing control under the Defense Production Act.

The tension flared after Musk shared now-deleted posts suggesting Trump appears in the Epstein files. Trump brushed that off as “old news” and insisted he had “nothing to do with” those allegations.

When asked if their relationship is over, Trump replied, “I would assume so, yeah,” adding he’s “too busy doing other things” to speak with Musk directly.

Polls show Republicans overwhelmingly side with Trump, but a majority of all voters say neither candidate. For now, aides on both sides are calling a truce—though neither Trump nor Musk seems ready to back down.
