The US Supreme Court has begun hearing arguments over Donald Trump's bid for criminal immunity - as he appeals against a lower court decision rejecting his request for immunity on four election-related criminal charges relating to his time as President.

It comes as some of Trump's most high profile allies - including Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows - are among 18 indicted in Arizona for their 'fake elector' scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
