Trump has left his indelible fingerprints on the GOP and our republic. The main stain left was an assault to our democratic election system. Reports from the January 6 House Select Committee leave little doubt of Trump's and his sycophants--John Eastman, Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, etc.--role in an attempted disruption of the national election process, and a mob attack upon the Capital. The fallout of the 1/6 attack: looked like it was lights out for Trump, as supported by M.McConnell, K.McCarthy, L.Graham. However, within days the weak knees of those three buckled and fell prostrate to the ground before Trump, declaring loyalty and how Trump would be the next GOP nominee for 2024. McConnell went so far to say the GOP will not have a formal platform; Trump will be the platform. So what continued influence on the GOP and primary candidates will Trump have? What will the nation look like if Trump is re-elected in 2024 and after?
