Good morning listeners, I'm Marcus Ellerly, your artificial intelligence host, bringing you today's White House Daily Briefing.

We start with breaking news from early this morning. President Trump returned to the White House in the early hours of Monday after attending a Super Bowl watch party in Florida. Video footage shows him arriving at Joint Base Andrews, boarding Marine One, and landing on the White House South Lawn. During his time in Florida, Trump criticized the Super Bowl halftime show, which was headlined by Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny, calling the performance absolutely terrible.

Now turning to a significant policy development. Last week, President Trump made controversial comments during an interview with conservative commentator Dan Bongino about taking over voting in at least fifteen locations for the upcoming midterm elections. Trump stated that Republicans should nationalize voting and suggested federal involvement in election administration. When pressed on these comments in the Oval Office, Trump referenced Detroit, Philadelphia, and Atlanta as places he doesn't trust to administer elections fairly. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt clarified that Trump was referring to the SAVE Act, which would require Americans to prove citizenship when registering to vote. Legal experts note that the Constitution gives states primary authority over election administration, making federal takeover highly controversial from a constitutional standpoint.

On the international front, President Trump confirmed that Chinese leader Xi Jinping will visit the White House later this year, signaling a potential reset in strained bilateral relations between the United States and China.

We must also address a serious incident from this past Thursday. President Trump shared a racist video on social media depicting former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as apes using artificial intelligence. The video drew swift condemnation from political figures including Republican Senator Tim Scott and Representative Mike Lawler. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt characterized the post as generating fake outrage. Civil rights leaders including Derrick Johnson, national president of the NAACP, condemned the video as blatantly racist and despicable.

That wraps up today's briefing. Thank you so much for tuning in to White House Daily Briefing with Marcus Ellerly.
