Trump's Wax Figure Removed

Listen Later

A wax museum removed a statue from display after it became the focus of repeated attacks and damage by visitors. Staff decided to take the figure off the floor and move it into storage to protect it and prevent further incidents. What happened The incident took place at Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks in San Antonio, Texas, where a wax figure of Donald Trump was repeatedly punched and scratched by guests.

The damage became bad enough that the museum chose to pull the statue from the gallery. Why the statue was removed Museum representatives said highly political figures can attract strong reactions, which sometimes turn into physical attacks on the wax figures. Because the Trump figure kept being targeted even after it was moved to more visible areas, the museum ultimately placed it in storage instead of on public display.

What the museum said According to management, the goal was both to protect the damaged figure and to keep the attraction safe and enjoyable for other visitors. They indicated that the statue could be repaired, but it would likely remain off the main floor until a new presidential figure was ready to take its place.
