If we're honest there are all kinds of reasons we shouldn't trust God. Broken relationships, broken promises by important people in our lives, unexpected hurdles in life...all contribute to an attitude of suspicion when someone says, "God loves you." The Christians that Peter wrote to had even more reason to distrust God. They were facing growing persecution from the world around them. Even with everything life can throw at us, we have ample reasons to trust Him!
