How to register a Trust

Our Tamil culture says more about helping others. Our literature, moral stories and many other books say that helping the needy is a godly activity. But now in this fast moving world, even if we think of helping others, but unable to carryout because of our busy life style. So that a Trust is formed and that acts as a bridge between the needy people and and people who is ready to help.

What is a Trust?

Trust is a form of NGO, Non Governmental Organists, created by an individual to help the people in need. The primary objects of trust may be

  • To eradicate poverty
  • To provide medical help
  • To provide free education
  • For religious activities
  • To promote ast, science and literature
  • In general it may be for charitable purpose

    Types of Trusts

    Private trust: If a trust is formed for the benefit of a specific group of people, then it is called a private Trust. Where you cannot claim any tax benefits

    Public Trust: When a trust is formed for the beneof unspecified larger group of people, then it is called Public Trust.

    Parties to a Trust
    • Founder is the one who formed the trust
    • Trustees are the people who manages the Trust Property
    • Beneficiaries are the people for whose benefit the trust is created
    • Major advantages of a Trust

      A registered public trust can enjoy complete tax benefits for the money collected from any third party. Even the doner can enjoy tax benefits for the money he donated. Furthermore it creates confidence and helps the needy people and uplifts the society.

      • Trust deed
      • Aadhar card of the trustee
      • Pan card of the trustee
      • Address proof of the witnesses
      • Preparation

        Initially you need to decide the purpose of trust. Once the purpose is decided, you need to find out a unique name for the trust. Further the tristees, who are sbout to handle the trust property, we need to select proper authentic people to manage the same.

        Registration Process

        Step 1: Preparation of trust deed

        Step 2: Submit the details in the Tamil Nadu Government registration portal

        Step 3: Make the payment

        Step 4: Fix up an appointment for registration

        Step 5: Physically submit the documents before the local sub Registrar office

        Step 6: Obtain a PAN card in the name of the trust
