She moved to Paris, discovered polonium and radium with her husband Pierre, and basically invented the word “radioactivity.” Then she won not one, but two Nobel Prizes because apparently one wasn’t showing off enough. During World War I, she even drove mobile X-ray units to help surgeons. Unfortunately, nobody realized radiation was wildly dangerous yet, so her notebooks are still radioactive today.
