The doctrine of the Sovereignty of God is often times classified as offensive to human nature. To be told that God is is great, just, holy, and pure mankind can bear. But to be told that "He has mercy on whom he will have mercy"-- that He "gives no account of His matters," these are truths that the natural man cannot stand (Grappling With God's Sovereignty).
We, however, must learn to trust the Sovereignty of the God!
