Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
The word trust has no place in our society. Many say that it is hard to find someone whom you can trust. Nobody is trustworthy.
Let me ask you this; Can you trust yourself? If you are asking others to become trustworthy, can they also trust you?
The mentality of not trusting anybody, the misleading idea of living in an untrustworthy society, have brought us to a point where we have carried the idea of not trusting anyone in our relationship with Him.
But it is clearly writing that we should trust in the Lord with all our heart.
The word trust means to be complacent, to be without trouble, anxiety, to abandon yourself completely in God’s hands.
Sometimes, we don’t do that. We have divided focus. We pray about something and trusting God our worries and life difficulties, the next moment we are complaining about that same thing to a friend, loved one or a stranger. Anyone who cares to listen.
Are we not called to trust the Lord with all our hearts, to surrender everything to him?
To walk boldly without fear in our heart, to be assure that He, the almighty God has taken care of our needs.
Why do we have to complain all the time
Why do we have to confess something else than what we are trusting God to do.
How was the Job interview?
Oh that one, I am just waiting for anything?
You are waiting for anything? So, you want anything should happened?
How is your sick brother?
Oh, he is still very sick, it doesn’t look good
What is wrong with you saying: He is sick, but I believe God has started a healing work on his inside?
Don’t you know that your words have power?
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
Another word for understanding is to discern something. Where is your understanding coming from?
Who is feeding your understanding?
Can you discern the things of the Lord?
We have to lean unto the leading of the Holy Spirit at all times.
Abram knew the leading of God and he walk before the Lord, and he was perfect.
The actions we must take first are:
We shouldn’t lean on our own understanding
While not leaning on our own understanding.
we should acknowledge him.
Another word of acknowledgement is to know.
We are called to know God in all of our ways.
to be vulnerable to God in every step we take.
To be vulnerable to someone means to do that with all your heart, not having any Plan B. you feel secure in trusting that person.
To be absolutely dependent on Him, with no thought of other options
Oh, that is how we should be with our heavenly Father.
Our confident, Hope, trust and security is in Him.
For trusting him and allowing the Spirit to lead you in all of your ways, it brings security in the midst of your insecurity.
It brings confidence even though you have anxiety.
Be confident because of God’s leading in your Life.
Trust him without any doubt because He has called you, you’re his Beloved without your works
Acknowledge Him and Him alone because he knows you more than you know yourself. Your identity is in Him.
With this new understanding,
I can now say: I have abandoned myself completely in God’s hands
I choose to no longer define things by how I discern or physically see them
In all my ways, I am absolutely dependent on Him with no thoughts of a Plan B
With this I am confident, He will direct my path
THIS IS WHAT TRUSTING IN GOD SOUNDS LIKE!
