Self-control is explained here in a very practical way. We develop as people through self-control. That self-control comes from a partnership with God's Holy Spirit as opposed to false teaching. It fleshes it out in external relationships, where the Christian's demeanor, discourse, decisions, and deeds are obviously different. This blesses people and brings glory to God and His Word.
