If you read a hundred online posts or listen to a hundred podcasts or watch a hundred TV commercials, you will get a hundred different opinions. And all of them will claim to be truth. I mean, who actually believes their opinion isn’t true?
Twenty centuries ago a regional governor in the Roman Empire asked, “What is truth?” We are still wondering that today. Is truth based on what I understand? Is it based on how I feel? Is it based on how many people believe it? Does someone get to decide what is true? Who should that be? Sometimes we see a lack of integrity or authenticity in people who are claiming to tell the truth. It is hard to know what that means.
So…I wonder if there is a reliable source of truth. I wonder if it is possible to actually know what is true. And I wonder what role faith has in all of this.
