ABOUT THIS MESSAGE: 
Many people believe that freedom means being able to do whatever you want. Jesus teaches us that is absolutely false. “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” If we take the attitude that freedom means we can do whatever we want, we actually end up a slave. You will only be free – spiritually, emotionally, eternally – “if you hold to my teaching” and therefore “know the truth.” Truth is the cause that effects freedom. As we celebrate Reformation Sunday today, let us recommit ourselves to the basic truths of salvation: that we have been saved by God’s grace alone, through faith in Christ alone, a truth revealed to us in Scripture alone.
