He can turn the curse of an enemy into a blessing, yet He can also turn the hollow blessings of His own people into a curse when their lives misrepresent Him. Therefore, those He has redeemed are called to hear Him, heed Him, honor Him, and hold forth His truth as priests, kings, living sacrifices, and messengers of His glory. A Holy God Who Shares His Glory Well, well, to God be the praise. Amen and amen. We serve a holy God. And when we say that God is holy, we are talking about His uniqueness, His glory, His beauty, His purpose, His person—everything about Him. There is none like Him. Nobody compares to Him. Nobody stands beside Him as His equal. He is altogether unlike anyone and anything else. And what a wonder it is that this holy God would choose to share His glory with people like us. What a wonder that He would bring us into partnership with Him for the work He has called us to do. We are not God, and we cannot add anything to His glory. We cannot improve Him. We cannot change Him. But He has chosen to put His name upon His people and send His people into this world as representatives of who He is. That means how we live matters. How we speak matters. How we treat people matters. How we handle the revelation God has given us matters. Because although we cannot change God's glory, we can distort how somebody else sees His glory. I believe that Mark chapter 4 is a very critical chapter in the Bible for us to understand. It explains very clearly the difference between God's role and the believers role in sharing the gospel. If you take the general teachings of most churches in America you will probably find that the church does not understand the truth that we discover in Mark chapter 4. The average church teaches that the church is not relevant for today's culture and must be more practical and the people need to feel more comfortable when coming to church. So what most do is to adjust the service to included elements to make sure the crowds are comfortable and they water down the Word of God. The whole point of the church today is to make the service more practical for the crowds, not understanding the word of of God will never be understood until God changes the hearts of people so they can hear and respond to God's word and extrude worship.
