Recently I got an opportunity to talk with Jeremy Kipp, the Head Swimming & Diving Coach at Boise State University. Shortly after we spoke Coach Kipp was Named the Mountain West Conference Swimming Coach of the Year for second consecutive season. Coach Kipp held assistant coaching positions at UC Satna Barbara and the University of Southern California, prior to be being named the Head Coach for the Boise State Broncos. Jeremy and I reflect back a little to the time when I was the coach and he was team captain at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, but we spend most of the conversation discussing the transition from being an assistant coach to leading a program. Coach Kipp shares some insightful stories ranging from being a young coach working with world class athletes to what you can learn from lunchtime basketball with coaches from other sports.
