Sooner or later, we all receive a difficult email.

A concerned email from a parent does not have to ruin your day! It is possible to read the email, and see the steps you need to take to diffuse the situation, rather than drowning in panic.

I know this, because I used to drown in panic every time a parent emailed me with a concern. Often, at the beginning of my teaching career, these concerns were because of the way I handled something.

Sometimes, I handled things poorly, because I was learning. Other times, I handled things well, but I didn't know how to tell parents that.

After a couple of years, I decided I needed a formula.
