The Tshiamiso Trust which manages claims for mineworkers eligible for compensation due to contracting TB or silicosis has recently announced that they have paid out over R2.27 billion in compensation to former mineworkers and their dependents. They were speaking during their annual General Meeting where they also highlighted progress they’ve made by reaching out to some of the beneficiaries who are suffering from work-related silicosis and TB from mines.
