つまらなそうにその子は

僕と姉きを写した

慣れない手つきでカメラの

シャッターを押してくれた

姉とはたぶん生まれて

初めていっしょに旅をした

四条烏丸を西から

東へ歩き神社の

名前は忘れたけれど しだれ桜を見た

桜は夜空に白く浮かんで光を放っていた

おしろいを塗った舞子さんの

ように次々と旅行客に

記念写真を求められていた

こんな機会はめったにないからと姉は

石の階段に並んで立って

近くにいた人にシャッターを頼んだ

できあがった写真は

いつかどんな感慨を

僕にもたらすのだろうか

悲しみをもたらすのだろうか

戻りくり返すことのない人生の

哀愁を誘うのだろうか それとも

あのときはああ楽しかったねと

目を細めて語らう幸せを

分かち合わせてくれるのだろうか

いずれにせよ僕は今ひとり

帰途につき 寝台列車のような

眠たげな空気のこもった

最終電車のひかりの中で

姉きの旅の無事を願うのであった

Or will it bring me happiness

Either way, I am alone now

On my way home,

like a sleeper train, filled with sleepy air

In the light of the last train

I wished for my sister's safe journey

I hope she won't have a trivial accident

May she return home safely
