Marjorie Jobson is national director of the South African civil society organisation Khulumani Support Group. Her political activism started during apartheid as a prominent member of Black Sash. Marjorie Jobson is a medical doctor with a specialisation in anaesthesiology. Her mother was a founding member of the Black Sash. Her medical practice was always associated with human rights advocacy work Her involvement with Khulumani came about through her involvement in the Pretoria Black Sash which she co-chaired between around 1986 to 1991. Pretoria Black Sash had been infiltrated by women who were working for the security police of the South African government, during apartheid. Some members of its executive committee were locked up and deported. Some members had their homes and motor cars petrol-bombed and their homes searched.
