Patrick Shai is a celebrated South African actor who has appeared in numerous stage plays, television productions and feature films. He has appeared in numerous television series including Mission Top Secret, Behind the Badge, Zero Tolerance, Hillside, Soul City, Life is Wild, Skeem Saam, Zone14, 7de Laan and Yizo Yizo.

Patrick Shai is also the founder of a social movement called Khuluma Ndoda - which aims to empower men to fight against gender-based violence. The organisation is in partnership with the department of justice where they go to prisons to rehabilitate and educate perpetrators of gender-based violence while trying to understand the reasons behind their actions.
