In South Tulsa near 71st Street and Mingo, late Thursday night on July 31, Tulsa Police report a woman was shot multiple times inside an apartment complex. Authorities say her son called 911 and admitted to the shooting. Responding officers found the woman with several gunshot wounds; she was transported to a hospital and is currently recovering. The suspect, who remains in custody, surrendered without incident. The case remains under investigation as officers work to determine a motive, and police have not released further information regarding potential witnesses. According to News On 6, the incident occurred at the 89 East Apartments and involved a handgun. Officers are expected to release additional details as the investigation progresses.

On July 28, Tulsa officers arrested a suspect in connection with a 2019 homicide that left a 22-year-old victim dead. Tulsa Police had pursued leads and advancements in the case over several years. The arrest was announced August 1, with the suspect being booked into the Tulsa County Jail on charges related to the homicide.
