TuRae’s career kicked off while he was enrolled at Temple University in 1990. He entered and won his first open mic competition at Philadelphia’s Laff House, where they, soon after, named him house MC. His career took off with a slew of more high-profile appearances and performances. He won the World Cup Comedy Clash in London, performed at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and headlined several clubs and colleges. He also debuted on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham and performed more than 10 stand-up performances on BET’s Comic View, The Summer Report, One Mic Stand and Partners in Crime.
