One of Jeff’s favorite books in the last year has been Shane Snow’s Smartcuts. In the book, Snow quotes David Heinemeier Hansson (DHH)—best known for Ruby on Rails, Basecamp, and books like Rework. DHH says, “once you stop thinking you have to follow the path that’s laid out… you can turn up the speed.”
So, how often are you looking at your competition? How often are you mimicking them? Instead of copying your competition, try doing things in unique ways by thinking outside the box.
