1 Samuel 10:1 Saul anointed captain/king 

1 Samuel 10:6 Saul anointed king

6 And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man

1 Samuel 10:9

9 And it was so that God gave him another heart

• Samuel was anointing Saul to Lead—there IS an anointing of the Holy Spirit to Lead
• Dad—There is an anointing to Lead/Rule the Home—to be the head of the home, to provide Leadership (headship)

How To Rule Your Own Home

1 Timothy 3:4, 5, 12 Qualifications for Bishop/applies here

1 Timothy 3:4, 5 TPT

4 His heart should be set on guiding his household with wisdom and dignity (true honor—as opposed to meanness); bringing up his children to worship with devotion and purity (this implies your presence is needed!)

5 For if he’s unable to properly lead his own household well, how could he properly lead God’s household?

1 Corinthians 11:3 This takes cooperation…

3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God

Ephesians 5:22-25

23 (Notice) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church

• Men/Fathers are designed by God Almighty to lead the family from out front—to be the leader!  

Families Identity Comes From The Father

• The father gets the glory when the children succeed (Father God also when we succeed)

1 Samuel 17:25

25 And it shall be, that the man who kills him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make HIS FATHER’S HOUSE free in Israel (no more taxes)

Proverbs 17:6

6 Children’s children are the Crown of old men (reward for perseverance); and the glory of children are their fathers

• Ever Notice? The family is named after the father (their identity comes from him). Safety, security—something to anchor themselves to 

Ephesians 6:1-4 Bring them up in the nurture/admonition

• It’s in the Security/Anchor of a loving home that the children learn their identity, strength, and learn how to love—through precept and example

You Are Not Their Source

1 Timothy 5:8

8 But if any provide (to see and prepare/make ready provision for future use) not for his own, and specially for those of his own house (household)

• Don’t allow the care of meeting the needs of the family to weigh on you. Don’t allow them to pressure you either! Faith puts no pressure on ppl (Moms/Wives…?)
• Fathers…You are not their Source—point them (the family) to Jesus

Genesis 22 God will provide Himself

Provide: Hebrew word (7200) meaning “To See”

• There will be times when you might not have all the answers. LEAD them to Trust in the Lord—and then (You) Rest

Hebrews 4:3, 10

3 For we which have believed do enter into rest (don’t worry)

Matthew 6:31-34 Take no anxious thought…

• Learn to ween them off (it’s a process)
• Too many parents are guilty of KEEPING their adult children Dependent upon them—Momma/Daddy NEED that connection—NO!
