After the apostles were outrageously treated in Philippi, they made their way west and

south towards Thessalonica and Berea. Their reception was mixed, but just as God did in

Philippi, he opened the door of faith among several groups in those cities as well—

establishing a faithful presence in the region through the churches eventually founded

there.
