However, there is a wide variety of differences in practice and understanding regarding this important rite. It is never good to bet against God. If He says it is going to happen, it will, even if it looks impossible at the moment. Following WW II, Germany had no appetite to return to its military past. It appeared to all, and still does for most people, that the nation has learned its lesson and will never again wage offensive war against its neighbors. The United States nuclear umbrella would keep its neighbors to the east at bay, and with the fall of the Soviet Union, the threat of war appeared to come to a close -- the Cold War was over. Military preparedness declined, but the United States still carried the load to protect the continent.

While American presidents failed in pressuring NATO nations to pay their agreed upon two percent of GDP on military spending, Russian President Vladimir Putin, by invading Ukraine, managed to accomplish that goal overnight. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz gave his famous Zeitenwende speech, meaning a turning point, on February 27, 2022 – a mere three days after the invasion. Germany was not alone among NATO nation voices announcing increases in military spending. And this is not the whole story, as we see a massive arms buildup around the world.

Stuart Wachowicz - TVCA1410 - Church buildings come in all shapes and sizes. Some are very small, humble structures, while others are massive, elaborate edifices which required years to build. Yet, even more varied than the size and architecture of their facades are the customs, ways of worship, and beliefs that they represent. Why? If all identify as Christian and supposedly have a common text, the Bible, as their foundational text. Which of these churches would the original apostles attend if they were alive today? Do these churches all represent the original doctrines of the Church? They cannot all be correct.

Those calling themselves Christians fall into many different categories including Catholics, Protestants, Lutherans, non-denominational and many more. For any thinking person, the question must arise, “How do I know that what I believe is true?” We all believe we are correct, but it is not possible that we are all correct. What do you really know about God and can you prove what you believe from the Bible?

Gerald Weston - TVCA1409 - The Bible is once again proving its skeptics wrong. Who could have predicted Germany’s dramatic shift in thinking concerning its military? The answer is that those who with an understanding of Bible prophecy know that Germany will once again become a dominant military force. We now see the beginnings of this rise occurring before our very eyes. You need to know what else the Bible has to say about events currently underway in Europe and how they will impact you!

There’s a new epidemic affecting our world today. And I’m not talking about a new variant of COVID-19. In fact, it’s not a virus or a disease at all. It’s not spread through coughing or sneezing, and lockdowns surely won’t help. What is it? And how are you affected by it?

It is the epidemic of loneliness. Now, you might think, “What are you talking about? That’s not an epidemic. That’s what all of us experience from time to time.”

But this is different. I’m talking about a chronic sense of isolation and disconnection from others, from any sort of community, from anything meaningful in life.

And why wouldn’t millions feel empty and alone in our world today? After all, generations have been taught there’s no purpose to life and we are the products of random chance.

Regarding Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, the late science fiction writer, Arthur C. Clarke once wrote:

“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.” (Arthur C. Clarke Quotes (Author of 2001))

More recently, evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins wrote, in “River Out of Eden” (1995),

Maybe there’s a reason why so many today feel chronically alone today. Maybe we as society have absorbed the fables of evolution. And they are profoundly affecting how we think about our place in the Universe, in society, and even in our own homes.

You might be one of the millions today suffering from a sense of isolation and loneliness. If you are, take heart. You’re not alone. And there is help; most importantly, from the pages of the Bible.

Texas Public Radio reported three weeks later:

At least 135 people have died following catastrophic July 4 floods in the Hill Country and Central Texas — including at least 71 adults and 37 children from the Guadalupe River floods. The central Texas flood is only one of many recent so-called “natural disasters” to strike mankind. It’s therefore not unusual for people to ask:

Why does a loving God allow such tragic events to occur? If He truly is loving and all-powerful, why do innocent children die?

The theory of evolution claims that life in all its astonishing and beautiful variety needs no God or Creator or Designer at all. Just start with a single, simple microorganism (though ignore where it came from!), and over 3 to 4 billion years, blind chance and mindless natural forces are supposedly able to turn it into every living thing we see around us, including mankind. NO GOD NECESSARY.
