"Twas the night before Christmas,


When all though the house


Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;


The stockings were hung by the chimney with care


In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there..."


These are some of the most beloved and well-known verses in all of American literature.


Take a short trip with me back in time to 1823 and the writing of this Christmas poem, given by the author, Clement Moore, as a gift to his children.


Then, I want you to go back with me to a small town in New York, where a Christmas miracle occurs. A man and his wife are reunited after years of thinking the other long gone during the Second World War...all because of a tablecloth and the kindness of people.


I end with my description of Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock, North Carolina and their Festival of Lights.
