Duke Orsino is in unrequited love with Olivia, while Viola disguises herself as a man (Cesario) after a shipwreck and enters his service. Viola falls for Orsino, and Olivia falls for Cesario. Misunderstandings arise with a duel and mistaken identities. Sebastian, Viola's twin brother, arrives and is mistaken for Cesario, leading to a marriage with Olivia. Eventually, the truth is revealed and Orsino falls in love with Viola, while Olivia remains happily married to Sebastian.
