So it’s now highly likely that Rishi Sunak will scrap the Manchester part of HS2. We’re going to be left with a high-speed rail link between somewhere near QPR’s stadium and almost but not quite Birmingham City Centre. If it’s never been about ‘journey times’ then why build a faster railway. Utter, utter expletive deleted.
