In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otadovec will look at all of the NCAA Tournament games, that were played today. The biggest stories from the tournament include two number three seeds, being upset. UAB defeated Iowa State, early in the day, and the set the standard for all the fun, to follow. After UAB won, Georgia State decided to follow suit and defeated Baylor. Everyone used to say that you need to pick a 5 vs. 12 upset every year, this is the second year, in a row, that a 14 has defeated a 3 seed. Last year Mercer took down Duke. Why do you think the lower seeds are having so much success?
VCU and Ohio State needed extra time, to find a winner. This was a 7 vs. 10 matchup, so can you really call Ohio State winning, an upset? In other action, SMU had a one point lead with 15 seconds to play. Bryce Alfrod pulled up for a go ahead three pointer, the shot was wide, but Yanick Moreira was called for goaltending. He touched the ball on the way down, the rule states that the ball must have a possiblity of going in. Replays show that it was more than unlikely going to go in, but in the letter of the law, he touched the ball on the way down in the vincity of the rim. Yanick Moreira teared up in his press conference, do you think that he should put all the blame on his shoulders? Listen in and call the show.
